Elora - Cardiff

Elora kindly stepped in to look after our 10 month old for an afternoon last minute after a cancellation. We had not left him with anyone before so were a bit apprehensive but she was very calm and confident and put us at ease. She was great with our baby and the cat/dog and took him out in the buggy for a walk. Definitely recommend.

Chantal - Bath
Reviewed

We worked with Chantal short term to cover some childcare during early pregnancy before our son could have an extra day at nursery.

From the first messages we knew Chantal would be a great fit for our family. We then arranged a video call and were really pleased with her manner and experience.

Although we only had two days with Chantal, our son really took to her, which isn’t usually easy as he can be a tentative soul. She took him out to a music class, to the cafe, to the park and played with him at home. We were really impressed with her skills and would work with her again in a heartbeat! Her passion for children really shines through.

Thank you Chantal!

We cannot thank Jojo for everything she has done for Ru. She provides a wonderful homely environment where the children can play, explore and do some lovely arts and crafts. She takes them out exploring the world and seeing new things. She also has two assistants who are sometimes present and they are just as caring and amazing. Jo-jo is highly recommended and jojo’s childcare will always remain and wonderful important part of Ru’s life x

I cannot recommend this setting enough! It's an amazing place. The whole family is very supportive and understanding, always sharing helpful feedback and advice through every challenging phase my son has faced since he first came here. Shali and Pravin have created a wonderful environment where my son feels completely at home and valued. Despite English being his second language, Shali makes every efforts to ensure he will be ready for school in September. Every Thursday, we receive fun new materials to make learning enjoyable at home. My son has been here for over two years, and has learnt so much and it will be sad to leave. This is my third childminder, and I can confidently say it’s been a lucky charm. If you're looking for a safe, fun, and caring environment, your child will love it here.

We placed our daughter with Nikki in September 2023 when she was 23 months old. Nikki invited us for an informal chat prior to agreeing terms of her service for our daughter.

Nikki is friendly and welcoming. It was clear to see at our first meeting with her how special her relationship was with each of the children that she had in her care at that time. Nikki was honest, open, straightforward and extremely informative prior to making our agreement with her. Nikki had all the information we needed to hand, such as her qualification and safety certificates, and she ensured that we were given all relevant paperwork prior to our agreement so that we could review everything we needed to.

Our daughter was given opportunity for 'taster' sessions with Nikki and her group prior to her commencement date which were extremely beneficial.

Our daughter can be fairly timid, but since the beginning of her care Nikki has encouraged her and her language and interaction skills have come on in leaps and bounds! Our daughter's bonds with the other children in Nikki's care have grown in strength week after week, and she misses them all at the weekend.

Now, our daughter is especially animated on Wednesdays when Nikki takes her group to a local children's entertainer... there's always lots of singing and dancing on the way home on those days! It's wonderful for us as parents to see the enjoyment she gets through Nikki's group.

We know that Nikki is close to other local childminders. They sometimes meet up for play dates at the various local parks. It's brilliant to see all the fun they have in the photos we receive from Nikki. It's also wonderful to be handed over our daughter's creations on collection when they have had a creative day!

Nikki is always professional. She goes above and beyond to make each of the children in her care feel special, listened to, and have their development and talents applauded!

We thank Nikki for all her hard work! Our plan is that daughter will remain in Nikki's care until she begins school and we look forward to Nikki's continuing support and help with our daughter's life's experiences and development!

For anyone looking for a childminder service local to her, I highly recommend Nikki.

I had Caitlin babysitting my 7 year old with ASD. I attended a party at a hotel and Caitlin came to the venue to babysit my boy. My boy can be hands on with his additional needs however Caitlin was absolutely amazing with him. She had kept him very entertained and brought some toys too that kept him busy.
Caitlin was the perfect childminder and will definitely use her again and would recommend her to anyone.

Dawn has cared for my 8 year old for just over 3 years after school and during the school holidays. Dawn has always been flexible when she has capacity to, which has been great over the school holidays and at times, during the week. There has always been excellent communication and reinforcing boundaries when needed. Thank you!

Gilda - Bishopbriggs

My 3 year old daughter has been with Gilda for almost 2 years. My daughter is suspected ASN and I never felt she had much of a bond with her first childminder. With Gilda, she took to her immediately and we have seen her transform socially under her care. She has a great understanding of my daughter's different needs. Gilda is a warm, chatty and lovely person. Very flexible and obviously cares deeply for all of her kids. We feel very lucky to have found her!

Lisa is a wonderful warm and caring nanny/babysitter who has helped us care for our children sometimes at short-notice.

Lisa has looked after our children very well, took the time to get to know them and build a relationship with them. They instantly warmed to her and I felt confident they would be in good hands.

Lisa is reliable, communicates well with us as parents, positive and caring with the children and always leaves the place neat and tidy which is appreciated. Her experience and professionalism is valuable and evident in the way she approaches nannying. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Lisa.

Honestly, if your child is being looked after Laura you and your child have struck gold. Trying to find someone you can trust with your child its hard. My daughter Molly is my third child and i sent my other two children to nursery but as i was looking down all avenues of childcare i found Laura. The moment i met her and walked into her welcoming home i knew i didn't have to look any further. My daughter adores her! Shes like an extended family member now to all my family. As a nurse I’m very fussy who i leave my children with but, I can go to work and not have to worry about her. That to me means the world. She has come on so much since starting Lauras and she beams with excitement when we pull up in the car. Thank you so much for your love and kindness you have shown to us all. We appreciate you so much! I literally couldn't do it all without you!

Beatriz has been childminding for our daughter since she was 14 months old, she was really helpful with giving us all the information at the start and putting us at ease. She provides lots of photos and updates on what they do day to day and she always responds to messages straight away and gives lots of updates on how she is.

I'm so glad we found Bea and love seeing all the things my toddler learns when she is there, we also really appreciate how much they get out to parks and going on walks to feed the ducks. Our daughter absolutely loves going childminders and it's lovely to know she is having such a good time when she is there.

Our little one has been going to Nelly's since he was 7 months. Nelly made us feel so comfortable with her erradicating all the uncertainties we had. Our son looks forward to attending. While in Nelly's care she sends photos and videos of their activities which is always really nice to see. Her place is also very nice and clean.
This is home away from home and would highly recommend.

Amanda W - Eton

I highly recommend Amanda, she’s great and we couldn’t live without her! My daughter loves going there, Amanda takes the children to playgroups, parks, days out and meets up with other childminders so they're always busy out doing things and socialising.

Amanda follows a set routine with meal times and sleep. She cooks all the meals and offers a great variety of foods, honestly some of the things she gets my daughter to eat blows me away, especially as she can be fussy at times but since she’s been with Amanda she’s improved so much!

We recently potty trained my daughter and Amanda has assisted us with this process, it’s been so easy!

Amanda’s house is very well equipped, clean and organised, the children have a dedicated area for playing, eating and sleeping.

We really couldn’t ask for more and were very lucky to have her!

I feel compelled to share a deeply unsettling experience I had recently, which I believe speaks volumes about the values we hold dear when it comes to childcare and basic human respect. Initially, when I reached out to discuss potential childcare arrangements, the conversation took an unexpected turn. Despite my clear communication regarding the compensation weeks in advance, the response was dismissive, citing the rates as unacceptable only after I confirmed availability for the specific days and hours needed.

However, what truly disturbed me was the overt prejudice displayed during our exchange. Upon noticing that Russian was listed as one of the languages spoken in our household, the individual expressed reluctance to work with us due to past negative experiences with Russian-speaking families. To clarify, we are not Russian by nationality, but merely possess the ability to speak the language—a fact that should not influence professional decisions or personal judgments.

It was disheartening to hear such a stereotype being used as a basis for decision-making in childcare—a role that necessitates openness, understanding, and an unbiased approach. When I addressed the ethical concerns of such stereotyping and discrimination, asserting that it verged on racism, the response was denial and a subsequent block on their end.

This encounter has been a stark reminder of the challenges that persist in our society regarding cultural sensitivity and acceptance. It underscores the importance of choosing caregivers who not only nurture our children’s physical needs but also foster an environment of inclusivity and respect for all cultures and languages.

Be wary of individuals who allow personal biases to cloud their professional responsibilities and interactions. Our children deserve to learn in an environment free from prejudices, where diversity is celebrated, and cultural knowledge is seen as an asset, not a liability.

Anne is brilliant- my son loves going to see her! His speech and confidence has grown 10 fold and that is because Anne is so encouraging of him and all that he does, they are always doing fun activities or on fun days out constantly learning new things-and Anne is great at keeping us updated via Whatsapp of all their adventures. Ollie happily runs up the drive each morning (on more than one occasion hasn't even looked back to say goodbye)! we couldn't be happier with Anne and look forward to seeing how well Ollie develops with her wonderful care xx
